The rollercoaster starts with KE because it’s at the lowest point it can be at so it can’t have any GPE but it’s still moving so it must start with KE. I chose points 1, 2 and 5. The amount of GPE for point 1 is almost at the highest it can be because that is the highest spot off the ground on the rollercoaster. The amount of GPE for point 2 is at the least it can be because it’s not off the ground at all; it doesn’t have the potential to fall. The amount of GPE for point 5 is increasing by a tiny bit because it’s not on the very lowest point it can be and i's moving a lot. The amount of KE for point 1 is at the least it can be because it’s at the highest point it can be so it’s completely GPE and it’s not moving. The amount of KE for point 2 is at the most it can be because it’s as low to the ground as it can be and it has a lot of speed. The amount of KE for point 5 is increasing a lot because it’s off the ground by a little bit but it’s not at the lowest point. One of the ways that KE and GPE are connected is that when something is lifted off the ground it has GPE and when it falls it has KE.
